Aditya Tummala

Aditya Tummala is a senior in Lowell House studying Biomedical Engineering. He has been passionate about addiction science research throughout his life and is currently working in the Bonmassar Lab in the A.A. Martinos Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital on developing novel implants for deep brain stimulation. Hailing from the small town of Brookings, South Dakota, he loves playing soccer, basketball, tennis, and volleyball, fishing, and just spending some quality time with friends. As co-EIC of THURJ, Aditya hopes to continue to empower undergraduate students with a platform for showcasing their cutting-edge research, inspiring others to do the same!

Audrey Limb

Audrey is a junior in Mather House studying music. She is currently working on research at the Emerging Auditory Research Lab at MEE and at the Sound and Music Perception Lab at the University of California, San Francisco. Outside of THURJ, she is a radio DJ at WHRB and writes for The Harvard Crimson.

Sophie Gao

Sophie Gao is a sophomore in Kirkland House, concentrating in Molecular & Cellular Biology and History & Science. Broadly, her research interests include the molecular basis of cancer, therapeutics development, and the development genetics and medicine in the post-World War II era. Outside of THURJ, she writes for The Harvard Crimson, and volunteers with Boston Children's Hospital and the PBHA.

Lale Bayler

Lale Baylar is a sophomore in Pforzheimer House studying Mathematics and Computer Science. Previously, she has done independent research projects on the sum of squares and the transformation of the Ramanujan-Nagell equation x² + 7 = 2ⁿ into elliptic curves to analyze torsion points and solutions. She has also wrote an expository paper on understanding the Mordell-Weil Theorem through the Directed Reading Program at Harvard. Outside of THURJ, Lale is a part of the Harvard Undergraduate Gender Inclusitivity In Math (HUGIIM), WiCS, and the Math Committee. And finally, as hobbies, she likes to work on digital art, go on walks, and try new foods!

Ryan Whalen

Ryan is a sophomore in Quincy studying Applied Mathematics and Statistics. He is passionate about financial management and non-profit work, specifically in the fields of activism, research, and journalism. Through THURJ, he hopes to expand undergraduate research journalism throughout the country. Outside of academics, he loves practicing kendo and learning new magic card tricks.

Tech Manager

Himani Yarlagadda

Himani Yarlagadda is a sophomore in Pforzheimer House studying Applied Mathematics and Global Health and Health Policy. She conducts research on TB microvariation in the Farhat Lab at Harvard Medical School. Outside of classes, research, and THURJ, Himani serves as a first responder on campus through CrimsonEMS and is a part of Harvard Model United Nations the Tech and Global Health Institute. As a Tech Manager, she is excited to integrate functional design with digital resources to represent THURJ and its vision online.

Pranathi Ganti

Originally from Normal, Illinois, Pranathi is a sophomore in Cabot prospectively concentrating in Neuroscience and Global Health and Health Policy. In the past, she has conducted research regarding corneal nerve regeneration as well as antibiotic resistance in various bacteria. Aside from making terrible dad jokes, Pranathi loves to spend her free time with friends and family.

Director of Education and Engagement

Héctor Martinez Luna

Héctor Martínez is a junior at Lowell House studying Chemical and Physical Biology. He is doing research on chemical proteomics at the Bar-Peled Lab (Massachusetts General Hospital) to understand how ligands can influence protein structures and cell states. Héctor is excited to return to THURJ this year to focus on the importance of going back to basics: learning effective reading and writing strategies to become better scientific communicators.

Theo Tobel

Theo is a junior in Dunster studying Philosophy and Neuroscience. He is interested in exploring how these two fields intersect, particularly in the study of consciousness, the mind, and our search for meaning. Outside of THURJ, Theo works in the Buckner Lab, leads trips with HOC and FOP, and is involved in student rock bands on bass guitar. He is excited to expand THURJ's reach as an advocate for undergraduate research and a representative of undergraduate research publishing and science communication.

Danielle Im

Danielle is a junior in Adams House studying neuroscience and English. She is interested in neurodevelopment and degeneration and is currently conducting research on campus focused on the development of the blood brain barrier. Outside of THURJ, Danielle writes for The Crimson and is on the board of Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad. As a Managing Editor of Peer Review, she is excited to make research more accessible and approachable for other undergraduates.

Jae Ji

Jae (she/her) is a junior in Dunster House double concentrating in Psychology and East Asian Studies. An aspiring clinical psychologist, she researches LGBTQ+ stigma experiences at the Biopsychosocial Effects of Stigma (BEST) Lab, as well as autistic children's play behavior at the Faja Lab in Boston Children's Hospital. Outside of THURJ, Jae coordinates FGLI events on the PRIMUS Board, and she loves to read, take long walks by the river, and curate playlists

Iris Sung

Iris is a junior in Lowell House studying mathematics and integrative biology. She researches conditions for the detection of phylogenetic networks in the Wheeler Lab at the American Museum of Natural History, and has served as a research assistant to the Davis Lab HerbariomiX project studying medicinal plants, in collaboration with LVMH Research for Dior Science. Outside of THURJ, she is a violinist in the Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra, and has served as president of the Harvard Radcliffe Society of Physics Students

Natasha Kulviwat

Natasha Kulviwat is a sophomore in Mather concentrating in Neuroscience. She is currently a research intern at the Massachusetts General Hospital where she is working with human induced pluripotent stem cells to characterize potential biomarkers and therapeutics for psychiatric disorders. Outside of THURJ, Natasha is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Brain and leads the Advocacy and Service branch of Women in Medicine. As Managing Director of Business, she is excited to continue spearheading projects this upcoming year to fund the start and showcasing of research projects.

Maria Xu

Maria is a junior in Leverett double concentrating in Neuroscience & Chemistry. Since 2023, Maria has been conducting research in the Valera lab, studying the effects of traumatic brain injury in survivors of intimate partner violence. She is excited to enter her second semester as a Co-External Relations Manager; she hopes to use the position to promote undergraduate research among the Harvard student body, in collaboration with department deans, libraries, and other student organizations. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and taking walks.

Adan Eftekhari

Adan Eftekhari is a sophomore in Quincy House pursuing a double concentration in Government and Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology. His research is currently centered in the Shah Lab at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he contributes to the development of novel, cell-based therapies for brain cancers, focusing on stem cell-engineered therapeutics and immunomodulatory approaches to target tumor cells within the brain tumor microenvironment. Beyond THURJ, Adan serves as the Director of International Relations at the World Pre-Health Conference and is a Fellow at the Harvard Undergraduate Think Tank, where he researches the applications of AI in environmental policy and sustainability initiatives. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, listening to hip-hop music, and trying new food cuisines.
